Interim Insurance provides coverage in the Comprehensive SHI Plan approximately one month prior to the effective date of the Autumn quarter coverage. For 2009--2010, the interim coverage period will be 8/10/09--9/15/09.
An additional prorated premium must be paid to the Office of Fees and Deposits for interim coverage. The premium for interim coverage is 1/3 of the corresponding quarterly premium.
Interim insurance coverage is available to:
- Medical 1 students.
- New international students who are arriving in the United States for the first time.
- New graduate students enrolling in the University for the first time.
Med 1 students who have selected to enroll in the Comprehensive Plan for Autumn term will automatically be enrolled in and billed for the same level of interim coverage.
New international students and new graduate students who would like to enroll in interim coverage should email the Student Health Insurance Program office.
International students arriving early to OSU for the first time in quarters other than Autumn should contact the Student Health Insurance Program office for information on when coverage becomes effective.
