WilceCare Supplement - Plan Outline - 2009-2010

Are you looking for outpatient health coverage to supplement your current HMO or PPO that would provide coverage while you are on campus?

Does your health plan have great catastrophic coverage, but fall short when it comes to minor illnesses and injuries?

Do you have high deductibles or out-of-pocket expenses when your are out of network?

If so, then WilceCare may be for you. WilceCare has been designed to meet the needs of students with other health insurance plans that only provide regional coverage for basic care services, or provide coverage subject to high deductibles and/or co-pays. With WilceCare and the services of the Wilce Student Health Center, a student's minor medical needs may be taken care of without the need to find a covered provider or pay any deductibles.

WilceCare is not an insurance plan. It is designed to supplement the health insurance that a student already has by providing prepaid coverage for medical care delivered exclusively at the Wilce Student Health Center.

WilceCare provides for outpatient primary care benefits for students seen at the Wilce Student Health Center. WilceCare pays for routine x-rays, laboratory tests, physical therapy, minor office procedures, prescribed medical supplies in stock, office visits for the treatment of illness or injury, and prescriptions. All covered expenses provided by WilceCare are paid in full* up to a $2,000 maximum per plan year, which includes a sub-maximum of $750 for physical therapy. Prescription medications have a separate maximum of $500 per plan year and are subject to a coinsurance payment of 10% for generic drugs, 20% for brand name drugs with no generic available and 50% for brand name drugs with generic available. Each eligible prescription is also subject to a minimum $10 coinsurance payment.

*NOTE: Allergy injections are an exception to this rule, and are payable at 50%.

WilceCare is $187 per student per plan year (Autumn through Summer). The premium is paid on an annual basis. Students may enroll at the beginning of each school term, but the cost will remain the same regardless of which school term WilceCare is purchased.
