Includes benefit chart comparing Comprehensive Student Health Insurance Plan and UPC plan offered by Human Resources.

Ohio State Graduate Associates have two health plan options - each offers a comprehensive benefit plan via a network of providers. Both Student Health Insurance and Prime Care Advantage offer benefits that include medical coverage and prescription drug coverage. Student Health Insurance also has a health plan that includes medical, dental and vision coverage and Scholastic Emergency Services' global emergency medical assistance.  Prime Care Advantage includes Adoption Assistance and the GlobalCare Emergency Medical Referral Service.

The health insurance subsidy offered to eligible Graduate Associates (GAs), Trainees, and Fellows is 85% of the Student Health Insurance premium for the student and their eligible dependents.

For more information on Graduate Associate Health Insurance see the HR web site. For information on Prime Care Advantage, payroll deduction, or the university sponsorship, contact the Office of Human Resources Customer Service Center.

To receive the premium subsidy, GAs must take a minumum of 9 credit hours (7 credits Summer quarter) and work in at least a 50% appointment each quarter.  Students will not receive the subsidy during a quarter in which both of these requirements are not met.

For GAs, Trainees, and Fellows who are eligible for the subsidy, the subsidy will not be posted to your account until a few days before the quarter begins.

Please note that questions regarding payroll deduction and university sponsorship, as they relate to your Statement of Account, can be answered by the Student Consolidated Services Center, 614-292-0300 or 800-678-6440 (toll-free).
